How to make roasted figs with mascarpone

1. Prepare the figs
If using dried figs, slice them in half and soak them in warm water or orange juice for 10–15 minutes until soft. Drain gently.
If using fresh figs, wash and cut them in half.

2. Roast the figs
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Arrange the figs cut-side up in a small baking dish.
Drizzle with honey, dot with butter (or olive oil). Add a pinch of salt and a few rosemary leaves.

Bake for 10–12 minutes if dried, or 12–15 minutes if fresh.
They should look soft and slightly caramelized, with syrup forming around them.

3. Serve with mascarpone
Spoon mascarpone onto a small plate or bowl.
Arrange the warm figs on top and drizzle with the syrup from the baking dish.

4. Finish
Scatter chopped pistachios and a few rosemary leaves over the top.
Drizzle lightly with honey before serving.
